The Hastur legend

 Hastur was a god, the son of Aldones, who was the Lord of the Light. He fell on earth at the shore of the lake of Hali and was
found there by Cassilda, who was the daughter of a human, the Lord of Carthon, and a Chieri. Hastur felt in love with Cassilda
and became mortal for her. When she got pregnant, she changed her place in Hasturs arms with her friend Camilla. The man
Alar was jealous because of Hastur and attempted to kill him or Cassilda with a spell-sword that can damn people into the
overworld. But that wasn‘t successful Cassilda beard a son, which was the first Hasturlord on earth and father of seven sons,
from which the Seven Domains have their origin.  Don‘t wonder if this story is not as you know it. They are always told in different ways. Fragments of the different versions of the legend can be found in individual novels and stories, such as "the forbidden tower", "Heritage of Hastur" and possibly others.

  •   According to some versions Camilla was also Cassildas sister.
  •   Anyway... some legends also suggest that Hastur himself was not the son of Aldones but the son of the Lord of Carthon and

    • the chieri Kierestelli. 
  • Cassilda on the other hand was always the daughter of Robardin, who in some legends was the Lord of

    • Carthon and married the chieri and in some legends is just a mortal man.
  •   The chieri Narad-zinie tells of a version where Hastur was Robardin and Kierestelli's son, not Aldones's.
  •   in some versions Camilla is Alar's sister, not Cassilda's one can also think that maybe Cassilda, Camilla and Alar were all

    • siblings.
  •   In the published legend (in one of the anthologies and in the Concordance) it is told that they (Cassilda, Hastur's son and their companions?) build an "opal tomb" in Camilla's memory (although there was no body to bury in the tomb) and Breen suggests that this tomb was the beginning of Hali Tower/Hali rhu fead.
  •   The opal tomb is also mentioned in the ballad - there is an almost complete version in Shattered Chain. I was going to post that, but when I looked it up, it didn't tell anything that hadn't already been mentioned. But it ends:

    And singing of Camilla's doom
    They wrought for her an opal tomb. 
     


    Die Hastur Sage

    Der Gott Hastur war der Sohn des Aldones, des Herrn des Lichts.  Hastur fiel auf die Erde am Ufer des Sees zu Hali und
    wurde dort von Cassilda gefunden, welche die Tochter eines Menschen namens Lord of Carthon und einer Chieri war. Hastur
    verliebte sich in Cassilda und wurde für sie sterblich. Als sie schwanger wurde übergab sie ihren Platz in Hasturs Armen an ihre
    Schwester Camilla. Der Mann Alar war allerdings eifersüchtig auf Hastur und versuchte ihn oder Cassilda mit einem
    Zauberschwert zu töten, welches dazu in der Lage war , den Getroffenen in die Oberwelt zu verbannen. Das Vorhaben mißlang
    aber. Cassilda gebar einen Sohn welcher der erste Hasturlord auf der Erde war. Er war der Vater von sieben Söhne
    bekommen, welche der Ursprung der sieben Domänen waren.
    Wundere dich nicht wenn diese Geschichte anders ist als du sie kennst. Sie werden immer in einer anderen Weise erzählt.
    Fragmente verschiedener Versionen kann man in einzelnen Geschichten, wie z.B." Der verbotene Turm", "An den Feuern von
    Hastur"  u.a., finden. (Das folgende ist von Piedro und Myria):
     

  • Gemäß einiger Versionen war Camilla auch Cassildas Schwester.
  • EinigeSagen berichten auch, daß Hastur nicht der Sohn von Aldones war, sondern der Sohn von Lord Carthon und der Chieri Kierestelli. 
  • Cassilda ihrerseits war immer die Tochter von Robardin, welcher in einigen Geschichten der Lord vo Carthon war und die Chieri heiratete und nur ein Sterblicher war.
  • Die chieri Narad-zinie erzählt eine Version,  in der Hastur der Sohn von Robardin und Kierestelli war, nicht aber Aldones's.
  • In einigen Versionen ist Camilla Alar's Schwester, nicht Cassilda's. Man könnte also denken daß Cassilda, Camilla und Alar vielleicht  Geschwister waren.
  • In einer Geschichte wird erzählt, daß Cassilda, Hastur's Sohn und ihre Kameraden einen Opal Grabmal zum Andenken an Camilla bauten (obwohl es dort niemanden zu begraben gab) und Breen sagt das dieses Grabmal der Grundstein  für den Hali Turm/Hali rhu fead war.
  •  Das Grabmal wird auch in einer Ballade aufgegriffen, welche folgendermaßen endet:
